David August von Apell (Capelli) was a author of vocal and instrumental music; was born in Kassel on the 23th February 1754, the same year of the composers Caruso, Dutillieu, Hinner, Hoffmeister, Kaffka, Marinelli, Palma, Rauzzini, Teyber. He died in Kassel on the 30th Jenuary 1832
