Alexander (Julius Paul) Dorn, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Riga on the 8th June 1833, the same year of the composers Bache, Borodin, Bradsky, Brahms, Brambach, Hornstein, Mertke, Reichel, Ritter, Rozkosný. He died in Berlino on the 27th November 1901
