The composer Jean-Baptiste van den Eeden was born in Ghent on the 26th December 1842, the same year of the composers Arienzo, Boïto, Caldicott, Czibulka, Dall'Argine, Duvernoy, Erkel, Hofmann, Hrimalý, Lavallée, Lysenko, Malashkin, Maréchal, Massenet, Mihalovich, Millöcker, Nesvera, Sullivan.
