The musician François-Joseph Fétis, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Mons on the 25th March 1784, the same year of the composers Berton, Blondeau, Castil-Blaze, Corri, Henning, Mengal, Morlacchi, Onslow, Ries, Spohr.
