The composer Kara (Abulfazogli) Karayev, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Baku on the 5th February 1918, the same year of the composers Bernstein, Betts, Dijk, Einem, Harman, Potter, Pylkkänen, Ridout, Rochberg, Roosevelt. Died in Mosca on the 13rd May 1982
