The musician Elias Álvares Lôbo, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Itu on the 9th August 1834, the same year of the composers Angeloni, Becker, Benoît, Berger, Bial, Blodek, Colyns, Hernández Sales, Legouix, Mertens, Ponchielli, Pougin, Robinson.
