TESTO DEL LIED

"Celia's fond, too long I've lov'd her"
di Peter Anthony Motteux (1660-1718)

Celia's fond, too long I've lov'd her,
Too much flame consumes the fuel;
Much she pleas'd when first I mov'd her,
But much more when she was cruel.
Ere she lov'd I did adore her,
And give over thus before her.
