"La Grand Odalisque" (1814), oil on canvas, 91 x 162 cm, of the painter Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, contemporary of Natale Abbadia (Musee du Louvre, Paris) biography, Works, Lieder Pupil of P. Raimondi and subsequently of L. Cerro was teacher of singing and Choir Director at the Carlo Felice of Genoa. He went then to Milan to teach singing. He wrote operas, farces and sacred music. His daughter Luigia was mezzosoprano and singing teacher (Genoa 1821, Rome, January 1896). She was engaged by Merelli and Donizetti composed for her the part of Maria Padilla (Milan, 1841). |
