The musician Emile Durand was born in St.-Brieuc on the 16th February 1830, the same year of the composers Adelburg, Arcais, Bülow, Goldmark, Grandval, Heise, Hellmesberger, Hentschel, Kretschmer, Lassen, Leschetizky, Minchejmer, Métra, Riccius, Serrao, Skuherský, Tolbecque.
