The musician Louis Théodore Gouvy was born in Goffontaine on the 5th July 1819, the same year of the composers Abt, Biaggi, Campana, De Giosa, Deffés, Glover, Henrion, Hopp, Liebe, Mazzolani, Miladowski, Moniuszko, Oberthür, Offenbach, Puig, Suppé.
