Ivo Malec, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Zagreb on the 30th March 1925, the same year of the composers Akutagawa, Andriessen, Basner, Becerra-Schmidt, Berio, Blank, Boulez, Chaikovsky, Charpentier, Constant, David, Duhamel, Escobar, Eshpay (Eshpai), Feld, Gedzhadze, Hadjidakis, Hamm, Kholminov, Klebe, Kostic, Lewin, Makedonski, Mayer, Mechem, Miletic, Pinos, Prey, Schuller, Smith, Somers, Tsintsadze.
