Ludwig Philipp Scharwenka was born in Szamotuly on the 16th February 1847, the same year of the composers Cervantes (Kawanag), Dimitrescu, Eichborn, Grandjean, Haarklou, Holmès, Klughardt, Láska, Mackenzie, Salvayre, Servais. He died in Bad Nauheim on the 16th July 1917
