The composer Juan Crisóstomo (Jacobo Antonio de) Arriaga y Balzola, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Rigoitia on the 27th Jenuary 1806, the same year of the composers Duprez, Gordigiani, Kittl, Marxsen, Schuberth, Scutta. He died in Parigi on the 17th Jenuary 1826
