The composer Sigwardt Aspestrand, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Fredrikshald on the 13rd November 1856, the same year of the composers Bird, Dupuis, Gabriel, Gall, Geisler, Gédalge, Kastalski, Macbeth, Mottl, Schütt, Sinding, Taneyev. Died in Oslo on the 31th December 1941
