The musician René (Auguste-Ernest) Barbier was born in Namen on the 12nd July 1890, the same year of the composers Ambros, Bourguignon, Canal, Clokey, Cortinas, Grad, Guerrini, Gurlitt, Gál, Ibert, Kovalev, Manning, Martin, Martinu, Medins, Moore, Nottara, Nystroem, Petersen, Reuter, Roig, Schoemaker. He died in Bruxelles on the 24th December 1981
