The composer Francis de Bourguignon was born in St Gilles on the 29th May 1890, the same year of the composers Ambros, Barbier, Canal, Clokey, Cortinas, Grad, Guerrini, Gurlitt, Gál, Ibert, Kovalev, Manning, Martin, Martinu, Medins, Moore, Nottara, Nystroem, Petersen, Reuter, Roig, Schoemaker. He died in Bruxelles on the 11th April 1961
