The musician Joseph Anton Mayer, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Pfullendorf on the 5th December 1855, the same year of the composers Aggházy, Chausson, Edwards, Esposito, Hellmesberger, Hervey, Hummel, Kauffmann, Klicka, Mendelssohn, Röntgen, Rückauf, Solomon, Valente.
