Silas G(amaliel) Pratt, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Addison on the 4th August 1846, the same year of the composers Alferaki, Brüll, Cahen, Chueca, Coquard, Denza, Drigo, Erkel, Gomes de Araújo, Hallén, Jarecki, Kleinmichel, Lenormand, Noskowski, Ponce de León, Serpette, Soloviev, Tyrrell, Valverde. He died in Pittsburgh on the 30th October 1916
