Hassan (Ahmed) Rasheed, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Cairo in 1896, the same year of the composers Adam (Ádám), Brand, Confalonieri, Gerhard, Hanson, Herrmann, Labroca, Lang, Lecuona, Mitropoulos, Rivier, Schröder, Szeligowski, Thomson. Died in Cairo in 1969
