Robert Starer, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Vienna on the 8th Jenuary 1924, the same year of the composers Aitken, Beversdorf, Braein, Braga Santos, Bunin, Camps, Dan, Dodgson, Erbse, George, Hollingsworth, Hovland, Huber, Iliev, Johnson, Kelemen, Kodalli, Kounadis, Kovaricek, Laderman, Lees, Mannino, Miroglio, Nono, Nowka, Orr, Perry, Rezác, Ribáry, Roy, Schurmann, Sciammarella, Szönyi, Taktakishvili. He died in Kingston (N.Y.) on the 22nd April 2001
