Wolfgang von Bartels, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Hamburg on the 21 July 1883, the same year of the composers Allen, Bastianelli, Bath, Bossi, Casella, Davison, Doelle, Hauer, Hernried, Hrimalý, Infante, Jacobi, Kalomiris, Kartsev, Klenau, Krein, Kunc, Lhotka, Lloyd, Luncani, Lévy, Mandic, Manén, Moonie, Perrachio, Pringsheim, Refice, Samuel, Santoliquido, Toselli. He died in Monaco on the 19th April 1938
