The musician Ján Cikker, author of instrumental and vocal music, was born in Banská Bystrica on the 29th July 1911, the same year of the composers Alain, Bartolozzi, Bergman, Burkhard, Gershfeld, Grunenwald, Hercigonja, Herrmann, Hovhaness, Kiesewetter, Koetsier, Menotti, Mul, Napoli, Ocenas, Reizenstein, Rota, Schultze, Shimizu, Smith, Tate.
