The composer Phyllis (Margaret Duncan) Tate was a author of vocal and instrumental music; was born in Gerrards Cross on the 6th April 1911, the same year of the composers Alain, Bartolozzi, Bergman, Burkhard, Cikker, Gershfeld, Grunenwald, Hercigonja, Herrmann, Hovhaness, Kiesewetter, Koetsier, Menotti, Mul, Napoli, Ocenas, Reizenstein, Rota, Schultze, Shimizu, Smith. He died in Londra on the 27th May 1987
