Frederick Grant Gleason was born in Middletown on the 17th December 1848, the same year of the composers Allitsen, Dell'Orefice, Duparc, Giró, Goldschmidt, Horner, Kistler, Kniese, Mancinelli, McCoy, Pembaur, Planquette, Puchalsky, Puget, Rice, Schröder, Schytte. He died in Chicago on the 6th December 1903
