The musician Edward Everett Rice was a author of vocal and instrumental music; was born in Brighton on the 21 December 1848, the same year of the composers Allitsen, Dell'Orefice, Duparc, Giró, Gleason, Goldschmidt, Horner, Kistler, Kniese, Mancinelli, McCoy, Pembaur, Planquette, Puchalsky, Puget, Schröder, Schytte.
