The musician Adalbert von Goldschmidt, who wrote music for orchestra, chamber and vocal music, was born in Vienna on the 5th May 1848, the same year of the composers Allitsen, Dell'Orefice, Duparc, Giró, Gleason, Horner, Kistler, Kniese, Mancinelli, McCoy, Pembaur, Planquette, Puchalsky, Puget, Rice, Schröder, Schytte. He died in Hacking (Vienna) on the 21 December 1906
