Oscar Lorenzo Fernândez was born in Rio de Janeiro on the 4th November 1897, the same year of the composers Ascone, Barth, Bentzon, Bravnicar, Cowell, Fernström, Gerster, Golishev, Heward, Kerr, Korngold, Kósa, Lillen, Maganini, Mignone, Moeschinger, Riisager, Salmon, Sorozabal (Marialcurrena), Stringfield, Sutherland, Tansman. He died in Rio de Janeiro on the 27th August 1948
